BilgiGender aims to bring together academicians and practitioners working in the field of gender and sexuality, to create solidarity and to open innovative and inclusive discussion areas at the national and global level; organizes symposiums, training programs, workshops, and research projects through various civil society, public and academic collaborations. The unit, which aims to follow current debates in the fields of gender and sexuality, aims to ensure the continuity, openness, and accessibility of the sharing of experience and knowledge through the report and evaluation to be written after the activities.
In the event to be held within the scope of "25 November the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women", a panel titled "Struggling Violence Against Women." Before the panel, an education organized called "Istanbul Convention and Protection Law 6284" by Fidan Ataselim from We Will Stop Femicide Platform.
The workshop called Dreams of Social Inclusion in Football: Practices and Ideas which held in partnership with Bilgi University Gender Working Group; Bilgi University Sport Management Department and Association for Struggle Against Sexual Violence. We organized an interactive event with the participation of different actors in the field to discuss inclusive football on October 17, 2019.
The first activity of Bilgi Gender, the symposium, aimed to bring together researchers working on gender issues at Istanbul Bilgi University and share their work. In addition, it is aimed to gain the visibility of the multidisciplinary structure in gender studies in Bilgi.
